Statesmen Talk the Skies

By Tim Weisberg

We’re still waiting for the United States to release their UFO documents, and likely will be for quite some time. But the pressure will certainly be put on the U.S. government after the bombshell that was released from the United Kingdom this past Wednesday.

As part of the British government’s continued release of UFO-related documents, a letter surfaced in their files this week that was sent in 1999 by an anonymous person living in Leicester, England. The letter claims that British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower tried to cover up a UFO sighting during World War II.
The UFO was seen by the crew of a Royal Air Force bomber crew en route back from a “photographic mission” over Axis territories. Upon reaching the English coast, they saw another craft that “matched course and speed with the aircraft for a time and then underwent an extremely rapid acceleration away.”

Keep in mind this is actually fourth-party hearsay—the letter was written by someone who heard it from his mother, who heard it from her father, who was supposedly a witness to the cover-up. Still, it was deemed legitimate enough to be kept in the UFO files, so there must be something to it that interested British officials.

“It is claimed that my grandfather, (REDACTED) was present during a debate between Winston Churchill and Mr. Eisenhower during World War II involving making a decision about an unexpected incident,” the letter said.

The letter states that the two men argued over the phone about how to handle the incident, which allegedly had photographs and audio recordings to back up the crew’s claims of a UFO. The man who was a witness claimed he heard Churchill say, “This event should be immediately classified since it would create mass panic amongst the general population and destroy one’s belief in the Church.”

If this story is true, it’s another example of the shortsightenedness of those who are in power and have the ability to release proof of the existence of extraterrestrial life visiting this planet. For one, it’s arrogant for someone like Churchill to make a decision based on whether or not “belief in the Church” will falter, because not everyone believes in the Church he’s speaking of, anyway. The existence of ETs might be the only true thing that could unite all the different spiritual faiths on this planet, aside from God himself coming down to tell us we’ve got it all wrong.

And this isn’t the only time Eisenhower’s been linked to UFOs. Grant Cameron, a Canadian researcher who follows the U.S. Presidents and their knowledge on the subject, has a lengthy piece on his site
www.presidentialufo.com in which he explains how Ike had a direct interaction with aliens while in office. Not to mention, we recently had Ike’s great-granddaughter, Laura Magadalene Eisenhower, as our guest on Spooky Southcoast, and she revealed that her entire life, ETs have been trying to manipulate her.

Imagine if this cover-up hadn’t taken place, and the truth had become known to the public. Would mass hysteria have followed, or a new awakening? It’s more likely that verification of a UFO would have made the conflicts between the Allied Forces and the Axis Powers pale in the grand scheme of things.

But it’s easy to sit in a chair more than 65 years later and cast dispersions on the decisions made at the time. What we can put out the call for is for the right decision to be made now.
If this type of information is going to continue to filter out of other countries such as England, Canada and France—whether it’s true or not—then the pressure has to be applied to the U.S. Government to follow suit.

Stephen Bassett, who has been on Spooky Southcoast a number of times, is one of the many leading the call for disclosure. Please visit his website at
